Ricky Twiggs Jr., MA, LPC, NCC, is a nationally licensed professional counselor who has been with the team at NOLA Detox and Recovery Center since its inception in 2021. With deep roots in the New Orleans area and a diverse background that includes treating patients, counseling high school students, teaching at a collegiate level and managing entire facilities, Ricky Twiggs brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to each patient he interacts with.

Demonstrating his commitment to continually implementing the best forms of treatment and care for his patients, Ricky is a certified mindfulness practitioner, has a certificate in bioethical and neuroethical studies and is a nationally certified counselor. He also specializes in treating patients with eating disorders and other co-occurring disorders.

At NOLA Detox, he serves at the clinical director and manages the therapeutic care for all patients. Ricky is passionate about enhancing the stay for each patient, increasing engagement and ensuring that all receive a consistent, high-level of care.

Rick is a member of the American Counseling Association and the Louisiana Counseling Association. He has served on countless nonprofit boards and received the award of Most Outstanding Clinical Mental Health Counselor from the University of Holy Cross, his alma mater.
