Hurricane Ida caused NOLA Detox and Recovery Center to close its doors for a few weeks. The center was happy to open back up before the end of National Recovery Month this past September. When asked how the hurricane affected NOLA Detox, co-founder and CEO Dan Forman told 4WWL, “The lack of electricity really prevented us from proving the care we wanted to be able to provide for our community, and hurricane Ida really exasperated the already very large issue in our community of opioid overdoses and opioid addiction.” Watch Dan breakdown Louisina’s struggles with opioid addiction in his full interview with 4WWL below.
